Les Coteaux Merlot 2011

Les Coteaux Merlot 2011

Mont du Toit Kelder

Etienne Barnard

P. J Geyer

W.O. Paarl
Situated on the foothills of the Hawequa mountain, overlooking Wellington.

Long and cold winter.

Weathered granite and sandy loam soils in the lower parts of the vineyards.

Age of the vines varies from 9 to 14 plus years. Grapes are handpicked and meticulously sorted to ensure only the best fruit is used for vinification. Juice stay on skins for up to 21 days after fermentation for elegance and structure. Merlot matured for up to 12 months in mainly French oak barrels.

Deep- red wine, full of berry tastes, true to this noble cultivar. Red and black berry aromas with well integrated woody nuances complete this wine with natural sweetish after taste. Smoked meats, rich potjiekos and stews will be complemented by this delicious red wine.

Alcohol:  13.76%
